Group Home in Platation, Florida

The Azalea House is a pristine home with a compassionate staff that provides residents with happy, healthy, and active lifestyles.  This Broward County group home for adults with developmental disabilities features 4,400 square feet flooded with natural light. Every inch of this well-appointed home is designed to provide comfort and recreation.  Our fully equipped modern kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances, including a double oven, granite countertops, and a breakfast bar.  While our staff prepares nutritious home-cooked dinners, residents are welcome to perfect their culinary skills while cooking lunches and dinners under the supervision of our staff.  The dining room table sits six so that residents can enjoy family-style meals together.  In fact, there are several rooms that were designed to promote a family atmosphere with a spacious living room where residents gather on comfortable sofas for movie nights or play ping pong, the music room where they can play the organ or guitar, and the gym with ample space for group workouts.

The backyard is a tropical oasis with lush tropical landscaping and mature fruit trees where residents can take advantage of our warm climate while enjoying a multitude of recreational activities.   This serene space caters to a wide variety of interests with a pool table, a putting green, a garden where residents can grow their own vegetables, a fire pit, a sunbathing area, a covered patio for al fresco dining, and a hammock to curl up in with a good book.  Soon we will add a chicken coop where residents can care for chickens and collect fresh eggs for breakfast.

While there is plenty to do at the Azalea House, our residents venture out into the community for daily activities that promote a well-rounded lifestyle.  Our ideal location in Plantation Gardens affords walkability to the Helen B Hoffman Plantation Library, the Plantation Historical Museum with regional history exhibits and a butterfly garden, Plantation Woods with 2.5 acres of nature trails teeming with wildlife, playgrounds, and a splash pad, and the Plantation Community Center with a state-of-the-art fitness center, dance and aerobics classes, and tennis courts.  Our residents dine out once a week and appreciate the diverse array of dining options in the area.  We take regular excursions to theaters, parks, soccer games, museums, shopping malls, and festivals.  Our PCMA-trained staff goes above and beyond to ensure that residents are happy and healthy.
